Recently, I embarked on a journey through the Bible with a Monday evening class at my church. As I revisited the familiar passages in Genesis, I found myself captivated by Abram’s transformative journey. He was in the land of Ur, content and prosperous, the epitome of success. Yet, when he encountered the presence of God, his life was forever changed.

He feels the presence of the Almighty One and obeys heavenly voices. The one clear and beautiful presence comes to him and says, “Abram, it is time to move.” I can only imagine how he felt. “But God, my home is here. This life is all I know.” And then God asked him to step out of his tent, and the Divine One said, “I will number your lineage to have more people than the stars in the night sky.

Reflecting on my own life, I can’t help but draw parallels to Abram’s journey. There were times when everything seemed to be going well, and then God intervened, altering the course of my life. The Savior gently urged my to prepare our heart for a journey to a new place, a new way of being in the world. Despite my initial doubts and fears, I chose to embark on this journey. Little did I know how much my heart would be transformed as I continued down my narrow path towards God.

The Holy One extends a gracious invitation to all of us, inviting us to prepare for an experience unlike any other. All we need to do is open our hearts to receive the abundant hope and divine guidance that is available to us. So why do we hesitate? The invitation has been given. Let us now embark on the journey to discover the boundless riches of God.
