Celebrating a Victory

This past week I submitted my final project for a class that I took in June. The professore-mailed me confirming that my work was fine and sufficient enough to fulfill the requirements of the course. Yeah me. Three classes down, three more to go, and then I write my dissertation. Time flies, and I can’t believe that I am much closer to the end goal, a Doctorate of Ministry.

I remember sitting in my first class in seminary in Denver. The program seemed overwhelming, and I couldn’t imagine that three years later, I would finish my Master of Divinity. I chewed that elephant one bite at a time. What seemed completely impossible became possible. I reached a goal that I never dreamed was within my grasp.

We all are capable of feats beyond our wildest expectations. It all starts by beginning the journey, trusting that the power of God will be with you as you struggle; knowing that you will be given strength for the next leg of the road. How amazing is the God of our understanding, who puts within our hearts the desire to move forward.

Today, I am thankful for the friends and lessons that I have learned as I continue to grow in my faith. I am grateful for the many influences that remind me that God’s love is beyond my own description, beyond my own thoughts, beyond my own expectations. I hope that we will continue to allow the Holy One to reveal within us our passions that fuel our souls. Praise be to God, who gives us the strength to journey forward.
