“So, brothers and sisters, because of God’s mercies, I encourage you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice that is holy and pleasing to God” (Rom. 12:1 CEB).
My confidence in my faith never wavers when things are going well. I stand by my convictions and lift up the name of God as loudly and proudly as I can. My struggle is keeping that same zeal when everything around me seems to fall apart. It is not that I stop believing; I forget to rely on the source of my strength. In difficult moments, I need the reassurance that trusting God is not optional—it is vital.
When I feel empowered by the Spirit, I move with steady confidence. I long to remain assured and faithful, but sometimes I fall. My faith can lie within me like an unplugged power cord resting on the floor. How can God’s strength restore me if I refuse to stay connected? I must plug in to receive power from the source, because that connection is essential for my spiritual resilience.
Being all in means more than believing when life feels steady. It means returning to God as the source repeatedly, trusting Him with the whole self, and choosing to surrender even when strength feels out of reach.
When Paul writes, “I encourage you to present your bodies,” he refers to our whole selves. Every part of who we are must be placed in the hands of the Most High God. Through His love, we know the source of our joy. We should fully surrender to God’s call—always trusting, hoping, and loving the One who makes us strong. Christ is alive, and because He is, so are we. Let’s live like it!
